PERCO™ GAS SWEETENING CATALYST:
PERCO™ is a fixed-bed, copper based, gas sweetening and gas treating catalyst used to convert "Sour" Mercaptan sulfur compounds in hydrocarbon products to non-corrosive, odorless forms. The PERCO™ gas sweetening process allows the hydrocarbon product to meet pipeline specifications requiring a negative doctor test or low mercaptan sulfur (ppm). PERCO™ essentially eliminates all sulfur induced corrosivity and improves odor on all stocks.
DESCRIPTION:
PERCO™is an oxidation catalyst used to sweeten a wide range of hydrocarbon products with varying Mercaptan sulfur levels., 100% conversion. Unlike other sweetening catalysts, PERCO™ is ready-to-use which eliminates the need for in-situ activation.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:
Applicable to liquid phase sweetening of:
- Propane
- Butane
- Natural Gasoline
- Straight Run Gasolines
- Mixtures Thereof
PROCESS BACKGROUND:
There are three principal ways to sweeten hydrocarbon products:
- Oxidizing the Mercaptans to disulfides.
- Removal of Mercaptan species.
- Converting and removing other sulfur compounds as well as Mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide.
PERCO™ sweetens the hydrocarbon product by – Oxidizing the Mercaptans to disulfides affording the following benefits:
- Reduction of Mercaptan content to meet product specifications requiring a negative doctor test or low Mercaptan sulfur content (ppm).
- Elimination of Mercaptan induced corrosivity.
- Odor improvement on all stocks
