PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
SW-244-40 VOC is a D.O.T. approved, spec grade, silane water repellent designed to protect concrete and other building materials from the damaging effects of water, choride and other waterborne contaminants. SW-244-40 VOC is a penetrating water repellent designed to work deep into the surface and bond chemically with the substrate resulting in permanent attachment of the water repellent molecule. SW-244-40 VOC will not leave a residue on non-porous substrates such as glass windows, metal frames, and painted surfaces. SW-244-40 VOC meets or exceeds the protection requirements detailed in the NCHRP 244 testing.

SW-244-40 VOC has a very small molecular structure for deep penetration of concrete surfaces. This material reacts with moisture in the air and in the substrate in the presence of an alkaline or acidic environment to produce hydroxy groups. These hydroxy groups will bond with the substrate and itself produce a hydrophobic treatment that inhibits water absorption into the substrate. An alkaline environment, such as new concrete, will catalyze the reaction and speed the formation of the hydrophobic surface.

USAGE:
SW-244-40 VOC is an excellent treatment for new and existing cast-in-place concrete, precast, prestressed concrete, architectural concrete as well as, brick, lime stone, granite, sandstone, terra cotta, stuccos and mortars. SW-244-40 VOC has been successfully used to protect parking decks, highways/bridge structures as well as commercial buildings.
