Since inception, the initial objective of Chemical Products Industries, Inc. was, and continues to be, in the Specialty Chemical segment of the chemical industry. Functioning primarily as a Research and Development company, Chemical Products focuses on developing new and proprietary environmentally friendly water repellents, surfactants, cleaners and degreasers, field test these products, and then, through development of distribution and marketing relationships, take these products to market.

Chemical Products Industries, Inc., (CPI) a privately held subchapter S Corporation, was incorporated in the State of Oklahoma on October 12, 1989. The Company was formed by Dr. Floyd Farha, Ph.D. a retired executive from Phillips Petroleum Company and Mr. Clendon Thomas who owned and operated Chemical Products Corporation (est. 1978), a company that manufactured and marketed a line of solvent-based water repellent products.

In 1995 Dr. Farha acquired the licensing rights to a proprietary-cleaning agent, Aqua-Cleen® developed by Phillips Petroleum Company and continues to be the base product in the development of proprietary formulations that have become the foundation for Chemical Products cleaning and degreasing product line.

In 1997, Chemical Products began forming Alliances with other paint and coating distributors by providing them private label surface preparation, cleaning and degreasing products, and water repellents.

The Sherwin Williams Company & Chemical Products relationship: In 1997, The Sherwin Williams Company / Chemical Products alliance was finalized.  This alliance allows Sherwin-Williams & Chemical Products the ability to sell a "total system", which  vastly improves coating adhesion & minimizes coating failure.  Chemical Products currently provides surface preparation products and water repellents under the Sherwin Williams label.  Ask your local neighborhood or commercial Sherwin Williams store about SW Surface Prep™ cleaner/ degreasers and SW Water Repellents today!

Product Summary

Water Repellents -- These products are siloxane and silane based and are used to protect brick, stone, concrete and other masonry materials, from the damaging effects of water penetration and repeated freeze/thaw.

Terazyme™ GP and Terazyme™ related products (TAZ line) -- Terazyme™ GP is a proprietary formulated cleaner concentrate with Aqua-Cleen® as its base ingredient. CPI has developed a series of Terazyme™ cleaning product (known as the TAZ line) that meet specific cleaning requirements across a multitude of different types of surfaces and different contaminants.

Aqua-Cleen® -- Aqua-Cleen® is a mercaptan based nonionic surfactant developed and patented by Phillips Petroleum Company. Various forms of Aqua-Cleen® have been shown to have a wide range of applications in water based hard surface cleaning formulations. Aqua-Cleen® is also being used in surface preparation cleaners for the paint and coatings industries, and in industrial and institutional cleaning formulations. Aqua-Cleen® in its various forms can be used as an additive, super concentrate, concentrate or more gentle diluted formulations (see Terazyme™ GP below).

Catalysts and Adsorbents -- Manufacturer of PERCO, fixed-bed, copper sweetening catalyst used in liquid hydrocarbon fuels processing.
